Why do I feel more sad for a pokemon I just heard about than any pokemon of mine that have died in a nuzlocke?

idk, but the guy was really clutch sometimes (i also had a masquerain) but when those two got the elite four my masquerien took out some of rika"s pokemon but persian didn't do anything. so when my garchomp was getting low i decided to use persian as deathfodder to heal it up.

I’ve started making more progress on my nuzlocke and so far only the geodude that I named muffin died because he was at a really low level, I also caught a buneary, a pokemon I never really cared much about, but then when I named it luma I felt a strange desire to protect it
