A few years ago, a man named James Rayl who was the ex-boyfriend of a girl went to the front door of her house, where her father happened to be. While first he was met with the father and not the girl, of which the father attempted to persuade him to leave, a few minutes later he came back, and with the father not by the door he aggressively tried to open the door and ended up fighting with his ex-girlfriend. The father eventually shot the man two times, and the result from Rayl’s gunshot injuries was his death. In court, it was ruled 8 to 1 that the father had fairly defended his house using the stand-your-ground law. Some time later, Rayl’s family created a Justice for James Rayl Facebook group which accepted donations. Years later, a video post was posted on iFunny about this incident, of which it eventually became a very popular post. Subsequently, iFunny users raided the Facebook group and repeatedly harassed the family’s Facebook group, to the point where it became private.
