Headcanon that they can chose to evolve or not while holding it

The text "[Pokemon] WANTS to evolve], and the fact you can cancel it implies evolving is a conscious decision, also they can have stones as held items without using them

Nevermind how it actually says "[Pokémon] IS evolvING" whenever I do it, regardless of pressing B or not

That's only in the later games i'm pretty sure, in the past it used to give you a choice but I figured they removed it because it made the gameplay quicker
