Before he became king, he stumbled from a forest into the streets of London, all-bruised and all-bloodied. People were astonished by how he looked. They even thought that it was a message of religion, which was arguable according to Byrd himself. They took him in, gave him a proper healing, prayed to him, and brought him to the status that he belonged to.
His reign lasted for a long period of time, from 14th to the 16th Century, until a time of revolution took him down. During his final years of ruling, he was challenged to a war by William Vaudus, the warlord from nowhere, and a serious tyrant of his own kingdom. He wanted to take on the entirety of England, starting with Byrd's Kingdom.
Now, as a lazy person, I'd rather not get into too much detail into the war, but all I can tell you is that it was a BRUTAL war, just like any other war, except that it was far more magical. Vaudus' empire included high amounts of dragons and merciless mercenaries. And yes, they were a big problem for Byrd's empire, but he still had his confidence.
It took around two weeks for him to singlehandedly defeat all dragons while his knights were busy with the mercenaries. After defeating the dragons, he faced off against his final enemy, Vaudus.
...
It was unknown what happened after.
