Let's assume that the giant shield over the Hotel in ep.7 of season 1 was not the favour Alastor asked of Charlie and was merely a physical manifestation of the Voodoo magic and soul power he has. It was only broken by Adam's raging fist, so literally by the first human angel. One of the most powerful beings in that universe. And while it was discussed in a Hunicast stream that Alastor is not the strongest character in the franchise, specifically beaten by Stolas in that discussion of said stream, he is still madly powerful and has a lot of murder willpower.
