I have a theory about it: A lot of fun stream users claim that they put work and creativity in their memes and believe that upvote begging overshadows their memes without even trying to makes good meme.

That’s exactly what I am talking about. The fun stream, so it claims, has the goal to be funny (even though 99% of it isn’t once you saw the new page). MSMG however isn’t meant to be funny, it’s meant to be a shitposting stream and the biggest Imgflip subcommunity, which is why „you begged for upvotes now beg for forgiveness“ is supported in fun but hated in MSMG.

Exactly, and while I am a semi-active MSMG user, I believe that MSMG should stop doing that. If they don‘t want fun stream kind of memes in MSMG, they shouldn’t post MSMG kind of memes in fun.
