I don't remember Garp using ancient mystical devil powers on multiple accounts to chop Luffy into little chunks of rubber, which is oddly fitting for both contexts.

This is one theory. Should Kirby and Meta Knight be related, it is not yet shown in games and IF they are related, Meta Knight came from the future and time travelled to now, which is why we see him. But again, this is just another theory.
