At its best it takes power away from the people by binding them by faith (like how a benign tumor absorbs resources from the rest of the body and is a waste of them) and at its worst it's a dangerous terrorist rallying cry that damages society (Like an actual cancer). Still, I'm a satanist in the modern sense, a better term would be "autotheistic", as modern satanism doesn't believe in anything supernatural, satan is a symbol: we live as satan, who was cast out for trying to make himself an equal of god. We renegate of every illogical authority and try to have the best time we can on this earth. I have a character in a book I'm writing that is supposed to be an explanation for that: she's a jester whose power is an aura cloak that makes everything random, and she has to make the best of anything she can with what is dealt to her, and her whole character is about how she's not constrained by morality or anything, she just does whatever makes her feel good.

Also, I kind of have this philosophy that every action is always egoistic: if you eat it's because you don't want to hunger, if you want a relationship is because you want love, if you help someone you love is to have them stop hurting so your second hand hurt also stops, if you donate to charity is to feel like a good person, or better yet, to feel like a not bad person. The only altruistic action there can be is a sociopath helping someone in something inconsequential without them even knowing, so I just accept that, and live selfishly.

Yeah, I am, I spent years getting bullied and mistreated in a christian school. I lost my whole identity, I stopped being my own person by just the grind the institution put against any individuality. Also, my simple existence and philosophy of life has been tried to be suppressed by the christian morality of the country I'm from, so like... I've also seen examples in other countries of how no faith is safe. Even applied fascism and communism are applied almost as religions by russia and fascistic states, explaining every contradiction by telling you to ignore it.
