Minecraft is a building game, Terraria is an adventure game. Weapons and tools in Minecraft are crafted from wood and various metals that ignore progression, meanwhile in terraria you have to kill different bosses and enemies to make a variety of tools to mine other ores and Minecraft doesn't come close to Terraria's game progression.
