For some Pokémon it literally melts them such as Houndoom and Scizor it can be much worse when you look into their pokedex entries in sun and moon.

Alright, I've done some research, and yes, that is true. But I don't think it's intentional. I don't think they're intentionally trying to hurt them.

Well, it is described as trainers who use mega evolution only care about winning and not their Pokémon's wellbeing Lucario even loses control of itself when it mega evolves (Most of the time) as shown in XY.
