I have a theory about this since I commonly do this all the time when watching analog horror content. Watching someone’s reaction or breakdown of the story will obviously soften the fear factor since you get the feeling you’re not the only one feeling the same as you. But when you remember the content when you go to sleep it replays those scary moments in your brain as if you’re watching it by yourself, leading for you to have a more restless sleep.
