big diomede is an island reserved for the military while little diomede island has a small american town at the edge

I looked it up. Russia only has a border guard station and weather station. Their indigenous inhabitants were relocated to the mainland. The USA has around 100 people on the little island. Didn’t read too much, but I’m guessing Innuit.

Yeah, perhaps this could be how they resolve their differences. A mini scale war between the 2 islands. Whoever was losing would escalate though.
I think thee are some conflicts or other still “raging” because they never signed a peace treaty. All very civilised and non-violent.
