No really. English uses many terms loosely for other things (which confuses speakers of other mother tongues). The word "take" is one of these terms. You might take a pill or take a shower, you aren't leaving a pill there or leaving a shower before you even start doing it. It is also blended with the concept of ownership. "Dat dump gun'be myne", one could say, as they approach the lavatory, pointing towards the door. They are claiming the action that is about to take place.
