LORE TIME 🗣🗣🗣🗣
Nexcon one day found some strange container of energy in their storage
They found out that it could affect probability
Eventually, it felt like days were longer, or shorter. They found out that the energy could not only manipulate probability, but also time.
In order to test its full capabilities, they planted numerous station on an island in Pacific, made from a meteor crater. They named it Island Theta (or Island Θ), they put the energy canister in a massive spire in the center of the island to harness it.
Things went smoothly, and tests went well. However workplace accidents seemingly happened out of nowhere...something was wrong.
They checked the status of the energy, and it was giving pulses of energy, that when put in a spectogram, spelt "Paradox"
Richard Glassmond, a junior researcher, was traveling via underwater tram system to help research the Fluctual Energy. Suddenly, all hell broke loose. Power was shut off around the island, the ai security systems went haywire and killed every researcher and guard on sight. The tram system went crazy, crashing Richard into the station, knocking him out.
The next day, Richard wakes up in the crashed tram at 5:48 AM. The game begins.
In the bad ending, you shut down the loop. The energy isn't contained, however, and it creates a temporal rift, sucking you and the energy canister through it. Where does the canister end up? In the storage room. You caused the paradox. The paradox? With the canister in a perpetual state of being sent to storage and then causing the loop, it has no origin. It should not exist.
Lore time over :)
