“So what do you do around here for fun?” Autumn asked.
“Oh, we mostly just hang out and play poker.”
The Demon replied.
“Wow, hell doesn’t sound so bad then!” Autumn said.
“Oh wait, I forgot I was transferred. Yeah, no we torture people here. And the only game we play is Snakes and Ladders.” The demon said, laughing.
“Let me guess… with actual snakes and ladders?” Autumn was a bit disappointed.
“No we just actually play snakes and ladders.”
They walked in silence and it was a bit uncomfortable. The demon was surprised by how much he liked Autumn. Autumn wasn’t surprised by how much she hated him. Autumn couldn’t stop thinking about her friends. And Scar…
The demon stopped. “Let’s set up camp.”
“Why?” Autumn asked.
“Tomorrow we pass through the first town..” he responded.
The demon just wanted an excuse to hang out with Autumn more. It seems like Autumn can’t go through one chapter without getting some sort of simp!
The two set up tents and the demon started a fire. They had to move camp and watch from a distance as their two tents burned down because the demon started the fire by accident. What an idiot.
This time the demon made a campfire and didn’t burn anything down.
They talked for a bit then Autumn went to bed. She fell asleep to the sound of tortured screams. That night Autumn’s dreams were filled with torture and traumatizing images. She writhed in pain. It was like everything that made her a human was beginning to…burn…
