I’ve platinumed this game twice.
And then I got my Steam Deck to emulate the originals and they feel so much better to play. The physics that they slapped into the remake are just inferior. Stiff, unresponsive, and not nearly as sensitive.
I think the point of the changed physics was to make it easier to go straight and not swerve as much. That might be nice for stages with thin floors, but for literally everything else, the physics make it harder to do anything.
In a lot of ways I love this game… but only because of its connection to Super Monkey Ball and the fact that they remade the originals for newer platforms. It’s nowhere near as good as original 1, 2, or deluxe.
