Yes, my cultured friend :) Zombies used to be the product of black magic until, if I recall correctly, Romero came up with the idea of the disease zombie.

(Also Bela Lugosi is awesome)

Yes George A. Romero brought the zombie apocalypse to the big screen in a more scientific way to correlate with the nuclear era. However directors like Lucio Fulci brought back the original idea of a zombie in his 1979 film Zombi or as in English Zombie.

I always found the history of the Haitian Creole word zombie very interesting. A mindless slave that doesn't question orders controlled by heavy hallucinogenics that can bend the persons will to your every command. Which in White Zombie the idea of such a drug is highly emphasized by Lugosi's character. Other dangerous drugs have been discovered such as Devils Breath which touching it or someone blowing it on you can put you in a zombified state. Seems that drugs and Satanic black magic go hand in hand I would say.. All the more reason I stay away from them. Even drugs can open up door ways to spiritual attacks and invasion.

Such an interesting history behind the term zombie.

I grew up on a lot of the old stuff, also grew up around my Grandfather and a lot of the old timers read plenty of books studied a lot of history in my spare time as well as these old myths and legends.
