That is known as the Streisand effect. Someone complains & it then gets wayyyyy bigger. No rhyme intended

This is known as the rap song effect. You keep hearing the word in a context that makes it sound cool, it's going to be reused. Doubt that 90% of people using it - especially youngsters - mean it as a racial slur.
