Alain grew up in the orphanage, until it was shut down when he was 15 years old. After that, he roamed the streets, eventually finding Ned and Rika, who were already friends. They all moved in together, and Alain had a life for the first time in his existence, with him managing to find a job, and even a girlfriend that he loved very much. One day, however, his girlfriend's body was found hanging, and her suicide note read, "If you are reading this, I am dead. I'm sorry, but I just couldn't handle the stress.. I hope you can forgive me." Alain then shut himself in his room for about a week before the events of chapter 3.
