Rock if the people who made Rock forgot what Rock was supposed to be. A genre spawned in the underground of the 70's and 80's, it is a blight on an otherwise upbeat exciting era of music. Much softer and quieter then it's regular Rock counterpart, Alt Rock uses it's repetitive guitar and drums to carry it's verses before yelling instead of singing in the chorus. Even the loudest heavy metal singer requires some talent for carrying a tune while screaming when all you need to succeed in Alt Rock is a scratchy voice and your best Bon Jovi impression.
