A lot of those weren’t really second gen EVs and as popular. I had only 4 names slots with the 5th going to Tesla because…well they have been awful for the ev industry now that other brands can make similar if not better quality vehicles.

You are also naming a lot of high end luxury brands that go beyond even teslas ridiculous price point.

The EVs mentioned were popular and loved by many users or at least found a cult following and utilized the information from the leaf’s shortcomings.
Like having the battery be an all or none deal. BMWi3 sort of popularized the idea of making seperate modules for the battery so faulty ones could be replaced without throwing out the whole battery.

I’m a firm believer that EVs should not be a luxury good marketed only to the wealthy. We should be putting emphasis on public transportation, affordability and sustainability. Something the leaf set out to do.

Nissan leaf is one of the first gen mass produced EVs, Tesla being the only other real competitor and well…look at them now.

Many other companies used the leaf as a blueprint for their own ev tech and the 4 listed as the turtle were a psuedo second generation of EVs intended for everyone.
