Yes, it's based there but in 2016 Kunlun Tech (Chinese company) bought Opera.
And because Kunlun was required to share information with the CCP, that's why i stopped using it

i installed it on my PC but uninstalled it a bit later but it kept reinstalling itself and one time it factory reset itself so I dont even have that PC anymore

i've heard people sayin that it installed itself without people's consent which is REALLY shady shit since that stuff literally illegal

Typically if a company is constantly advertising their product it's most likely dogshit
And most youtubers i've seen that have been sponsored by it still used chrome or any other browsers other than opera in later videos
yep my suspicions were right
after i uninstalled opera gx i knew it still left some bloatware hidden around so i check task manager and sure enough, i have some sort of geolocator running without my knowledge. and then a few days after that i get steam emails in chinese which are most likely phishing attacks. I will now refuse to get ANY software from the Chinese dicks f**kin with my shit, f**k you CCP
