The Red Retrieval Chapter 6: The Encounter

"You two should stay back. I got this.", suggested Setuh.
"Fine. Be careful in there.", said X.

With a little hesitation, Setuh entered the office. She closed the door behind, as the three faced the Masked Silhouette. There he was, sitting on his chair, doing some paperwork on his desk. His mask had the marks of the shapes of Setuh and her brothers. Gradually, Setuh developed a strange, terrible feeling by looking at his mask. Through this feeling, a little sweat came down her forehead.

"S-Sir! Permission to speak, sir?", requested Setuh as the she stood at attention, and saluted.
"... Permission granted. What is it?", queried the Silhouette.
"I-Is there a chance that w-we could have a map of the base?".
"They are no your left. You can find them in the cupboard."
"T-Thank you, sir."

She marched to the cupboard, and found a copy of the map. As she turned away from the Silhouette, she became slightly scared. She kept thinking to herself that it was nothing to worry about; all she and her team had to do was to rescue Dynamo with the help of the map. She marched away with two steps until...

"Wait a minute...", suspiciously realised Silhouette, "I haven't seen your face before. You must be new here."
"Y-yes s-sir. I-I am", stuttered Setuh as she turned back round.
"If you are new, then your details must have been sent to me."
"M-maybe there has been a delay."
"A delay?".
"Y-Yes sir! A delay!".

Meanwhile outside of the office, Saike and X leaned against the wall, waiting for Setuh to come back out. X whistled out a random song; Saike tried to stay awake. Both of them had to do something to pass the time.

"So... how are the wife and kids?", casually asked X.
"Oh yeah. They're good so far. Kinda sad that one of my kids got expelled from school. I wish I could do something about it.", returned Saike, "How about your wife and kid?".
"Oh. They're doing great. Nothing terrible happened to them."
"Yeah, at least."
"There's one thing that I wanna understand about you, Saike."
"And, that is...".
"What happened between you and... Byrd?".
"Pfft. A lot. It's a long, long story really. Care to listen?".
"Sure. I don't mind."

Meanwhile back in the office, Setuh shook as she was being interrogated by Silhouette.

"What is your name, young soldier?", Silhouette intimidatingly asked Setuh.
"My... name?", repeated Setuh.
"Yes! Your name."
"I'm uh...".

Setuh had to think of a fake name, she never expected this situation to happen. She looked elsewhere as she stuttered.

"Do you not know your name?!", Silhouette started to become furious as he placed the palm of his hands on the desk.
"I-I do. It's Serena Wonders!", hurriedly lied Setuh.

A shadow behind the masked leader rose above. Lengthening claws popped out of its body, and sharpened themselves. A huge, murderous smile grew on the shadows face. When Setuh saw this, she took a step backwards. Her arms trembled. Her eyes cowered in fear despite being out in the open. Her mouth struggled to stay serious and straight. More sweat came down her flat head and to her hands.

"That... is believable.", said Silhouette, as the shadow went back in its usual place.
"Phew...", the yellow lady sighed out of relief.
"You may leave to your post now."
"Thank you, sir. Thank you very much."
"Oh. And another thing!".
"Y-yes sir?".
"It's "master". Not "Sir"."
"Understood, m-master."

Her whole body quivered as she suffered from saying the word "Master". She hated every bit of the encounter. The suspicion, the moving shadow, and that word "Master". With hesitation, she saluted Silhouette and lunged out of his office. Gagging a lot from what happened, she closed her eyes, and imagined her first meeting with the leader to disappear. When she opened them again, she saw Saike and X having a quiet laugh about something.

"Hey guys. I found the map. What are you laughing about? We're on a mission.", she questioned them.
"Nothing. It's something about Byrd.", chuckled X.
"We were actually talking about every time Byrd gets his nose bleeding when I turn into a girl.", told Saike.
"Oh."
"Yup. That just only happened for at least four or five times before he uh... ya know.", X awkwardly said.
"Oh right. That. Although I hate him for that, I don't even THINK that he would do that. By the way, Setuh, you got the map?", asked Saike.
"I literally told you, but yeah, I did. The High Leader though... he was so... weird.", fearfully fretted Setuh.
"Weird? In what way?", asked X.
"I don't know... he was just... scary. He wore black clothes and a dark cloak. He wore this mask that resembled me, Byrd, and Lord Dynamo. And there was this shadow that was moving.", she gulped.

Seeing Setuh shaking up, X and Saike looked at each other.

"I don't know about you, but that sounds a bit familiar.", X said.
"You met him too?", pointed out Saike.
"Maybe. I just didn't see him properly, but I remember a distinct vision of him while I was fighting some annoying French guy wearing a gas mask."
"Yeah. I've seen that hooded guy too. He was out there on a tower, while I was defeating three crazy murderers on the street."

The two looked at Setuh, as they began to worry a little.
