So, I would disagree with that statement. The two are similar, but strikingly different. Zoophilia, (If you weren't already aware) is the sexual attraction to animals. I, as well as you, find it disgusting. The furry fandom is centric on ideas and drawings of anthropomorphic characters with human caricature. I'm sure this has been explained to you in the past. You're entitled to your own opinion, and I respect that.

Just remember, as quoted by a friend of mine, "Two percent of all humans are zoophiles, 2 percent of all furries are zoophiles. Either everyone is secretly a furry, or there's no correlation."
