Daph: Huh…? Hello?

*he stifles it and rubs his face, then exhales shakily* "oh man.."

Daph: Do you….do you want a hug maybe…? *you can tell he feels bad*

"okay."

*he hugs you extremely gently*

“Okay… Where’s the room?”

Daph: All the way at the end of the hall on your left

*he stands up from the table and goes down the hall and into the room*

*He flops down on the couch*

*james lies down on the bed and curls up in a pile of all the blankets*

*Daph simply sits and plays among us*

*james falls asleep, full for the first time in a long time*

*as the afternoon goes on, light rain begins to fall*

*after a couple hours, he groggily stumbles out of the room and into the living room again*

Daph: Well hello *he smiles, not looking away from his phone*

"Nah, I'll just watch, I don't want to make you lose or anything."

Daph: I can start another round, it’s fine

"I'll watch."

Daph: Alright *insert playing here*

*he watches intently and starts to understand*

Daph: What do ya think? I’m not very good at it

"It's interesting."

*he smiles*

"So how do you win?"

“Hi. How long was I asleep for?”

Daph: an hour or two

“Okay! What’re you doing?”

Daph: playing among us

"What's that?"

Daph: You’ve never played among us???

"No? I don't have a phone or anything, remember?"

Daph: oh yeah, well it’s- *insert him explaining here*

"That sounds fun. Can I watch you play, please?"

Daph: sure! You can also give it a try if you want.

“Thank you!” *he begins to eat*

*he smiles and sits across from you*
Daph: No problem.

*he continues to eat* “This is really good.”

Daph: thank you, I’m glad you like it.

*he finishes the meal* “That was delicious, thank you.”

*he picks up the bowl and puts it in the sink*
Daph: it’s no problem! My roommate says I suck at cooking so it feels nice to be appreciated

“They’re wrong!”

Daph: *he snickers* that’s what I’m saying

*he yawns*

Daph: You can sleep if you like, I have an extra room

*the tent shakes a bit*

Daph: *he slowly walks over* Hello?

*a small childs voice calls out from the tent* "Don't hurt me!"

Daph: *flashbacks* I promise I won’t! Are you okay…?

*a small boy looks out of the tent* "Yeah... Who are you?"

Daph: *he kneels down* My name is Daph. I was just walking through and I noticed you

"I'm James." *he moves and unzips the front flap of the tent*

Daph: well it’s very nice to meet you James. What’re you doing out here…?

"This is my house.."

Daph: you live in a tent?

"It's amazing. Warm..."

Daph: *He smiles* Theres a room next to mine that you can have.

"o-okay."

Daph: Make yourself at home, Tom should be back later.

"Who? Are you leaving?"

Daph: Oh I'm going anywhere! Tom is my partner. He loves kids and is pretty nice in my opinon

"Alright.."

Daph: Are you hungry?

*he nods*

Daph: I can whip up something

"..Yeah.."

Daph: Your parents are….

*his eyes start to tear up*

Daph: Hey, don’t cry. Look. It happens to the best of us. My parents died in a house fire when I was four. I get it *he smiles softly and puts a hand on your shoulder*

"O-okay." *he sniffles a bit*

Daph: Do you wanna come with me? So you don’t have to live here? I’m sure my roommate won’t mind

"You're just gonna hurt me when nobody can see you!" *he shrinks back into the tent*

Daph: *he winces back* N-No I won’t! I promise you I won’t-

Daph: I swear on my life.

"Okay..."

*he offers his hand*

*he skeptically takes it*

*he gently holds your hand and walks towards an apartment building*

*he's looking around as they walk together* "These houses are nice.."

Daph: I suppose, I’m to broke to afford any of the nice ones though

"It's still a big upgrade from what i have."

*he pushes open the door to the building*
Daph: true. My apartment ain’t that nice either

*he looks around the interior* "Wow."

Daph: What do ya think?

"Oh, I don't want to kill someone over a game!"

*he flinches a bit* "oh- Okay."

Daph: *he puts down his phone and looks at you* is that a sensitive topic?

"No no I'm fine. Yeah, I'm fiiine." *he's trembling a little bit*

*he turns it off*

"It's okay, i'm over it."

*he's swallowing a cry*

*he stands and slowly walks over*

"Yes, please."

Daph: What do ya want?

"Whatever, I'm just hungry."

Daph: Alrighty. *He begins cooking, soon the room smells amazing*

*his stomach growls violently* "What're you making?"

Daph: The one thing I'm good at making, pasta. I hope you like that.

"I'm sure I will."

*He smiles to himself*
*Five minutes later he sets a bowl on the dining table*

*james looks at it* "can i eat it?"
