That's my classmates on the daily, unfortunately, but not because I support the LGBTQ+ community, but because (most of them) are dumb: I'd be on my PC at school and my immature friends would sometimes come over to me and start up those fibs (for fun in their eyes I believe) and tell a few of their friends that and then I'd object and say that I'm simply doing my work or that I'm playing a game. So yes, I understand that.
