Thanks! Alright.
The rice used is sushi rice, and I followed the stovetop instructions on the packet.
1 Cup of sushi rice is washed in a bowl until the water is clear. Then it's added into a pot of water and placed on a stovetop to boil. If you want coloured rice, add food colour to the water (Only a few drops are needed) After the pot boils, bring it down to a simmer until the rice is no longer hard. Then, drain the remaining water using a strainer. Take the sushi rice into a bowl and add 3 tbsp of vinegar 2tbsp of sugar and 1/2 tbsp of salt (this is for 1 cup of rice so it may change depending on the rice amount).
To stuff the character, I've just been putting half of the rice for the shape on top of clear wrap. Then, the filling, and then on top the other half of the rice needed for the shape. Then you wrap it using the clear wrap and mould it into shape before removing it from the wrap and placing it in the bento. The fillings I've used in the past are chicken and tuna (sometimes with avocado).
I also made a sushi roll for the puppet's body, and cut it in half for the shape.
For decorating, there are many techniques you can use. Cut pieces of seaweed, cheese and capsicum are what tops each character. Cut vegetables and fruit are a good filling for the smaller compartments, as are smaller dishes. I steamed a Char Siu Bao (BBQ Pork Bun) for the Puppet bento, for example. You can do anything you want with the fillings, but it's good to have a mixture of a protein, fruit/vegetable and something else like a small sweet or another cooked dish.
