The only part of Scotland I've been to is the Orkney Islands. That was pretty grim.

The funny part there is the Orkney Islands are paradise compared to Glasgow.

It honestly feels like living in 1980's Soviet Russia (left-wing authoritarianism included).

Not surprised. Must've been freezing cold up all the way up there as well. The wind in Scotland is nippy even in the summertime.

Didn't see much nature tbh. I was just visiting a family friend. This was a few years back though so I don't remember that much about the trip. Might try visiting mainland Scotland sometime when the weather is a bit less miserable as I have some relatives from there.

Anything from late May- early September is fairly good.
