if our country operated solely on a popular vote or a basic democracy, imagine this:
you're in a room with 99 other people.
a vote is taken and 51 people say that all 100 of you must only eat anchovies and black olives for the rest of your lives.
that means the popular vote of 51 people wins and the rest of you are made to eat anchovies and black olives... would you like that?
