At the end (the part where Liam "kills Airy") Ravenous kills Mr, who then wakes up in an aged cave/room/some sort of enclosure that he has been placed in by Ravenous. His clothes are tattered and bloodied but he himself shows no injury. This shows he had in fact died, and this part is many years later.
