Back in the 90s Bill was widely hated (affixed image : Bill attacked in public with pies)
So he took a large portion of his wealth and created and funded a whole host of journalism schools and invested in news media.
THIS is the actual reason why Bill Gates suddenly showed up all over the media on completely unrelated topics and outside of that has a largely positive image with the majority.
Whenever he wants to interject into a conversation he instantly has a couple thousand journalists and several television companies available to him to make that happen.
That piece of crap well and truly played the long game..
