Fun fact, wool blocks sound so if you surround a shrieker with wool it Can't go off

That's what I used to navigate in the ancient city, but...

1- I had no wool, I had to collect it there
2- there's like 2-3 shriker per chest, I'm not joking (worst luck ever)
3- If my inventory was full I was basically dead, cause any item dropping will be attracted to me (artefact) and make continuous noises.

I just use creative to spawn in a bunch of god apples and a sharp 10 netherite sword

I think that giant hole in it's face may in fact be a nostril, as it will sometimes sniff you out, and it appears to have no other orifice with which to sniff you
