what about if you go into finance? then you have to use algebra a lot

I'm not going into finance, but I'm curious why is it important?

when going into finance.

you know when you used y=mx+b and all that stuff? thats a constant use of algebra in that area of expertise

Yeah but like we learned a lot of random stuff I don't see as important, but I can see how slope intercept is important.

Even a quadratic formula is used on a near day to day basis. (my mom works in finance and she has to use those equations a lot.)

Yeah I knew quadratics were important

But solving equations is what confuses, me where is that used?

in everyone of those areas because you have to set up the problem then

A. use a calculator

B. solve it yourself
