Don’t get me wrong I like a ton of interpretations of the smiler but I hate when they make a entity that’s soo mysterious and down right terrifying look like this

smilers don't have a form necessarily, they made of negative energy. I see them as more abstract their form variating depending on the negative energy they're composed of

Smilers are made of pure negative energy. they do not have a form so to speak. when a smiler is old it becomes unstable and implodes, scattering negative energy everywhere, thus making more smilers

Yeah thats one thing i like to think they do have a body but we never see it, it adds the unknown and mystery with them the backrooms it’s self is unknown and mysterious it takes the fear of the unknown to a different level by adding creatures that are mysterious and the smiler is my favorite because its a entity thats body is always surrounded by darkness so we never see it but we only see it’s twisted smile and I like the theory that there made of negative energy.
