They won't know what's normal, so the tingling wouldn't mean anything to them.

In Darkstalker's case, he saw the future and knew he could do something. If it was any other tribe, they wouldn't know until they used it.

b:they yell at some inanimate object and it works.
c: they feel the weird tingling in their claws that turtle felt.

But turtle didn't think that the tingle was anything weird, as he had it his whole life and it wasn't obvious that other's didn't have it.

Actually C is correct. Animus have tingling in their claws because that is where the magic is. If you remember the ending of book 9, when Darkstalker took Turtle's power away, the tingling went away with it.

But he didn't know that was a sign of his power, he had had it his whole life, and only noticed it when it was gone

I think this is the reason the SeaWings had the animus-test-thing.
