I’m cool with that. You have to make the advanced care thing with a Dr here. After we finished he said he’d probably have a very similar one if he’d been through what I had. Even 10 years ago, I would have died regardless of what they tried.
Medical science is so good now that people regularly survive and live very unnatural lives. I had an artificial pump with a controller and batteries attached. That’s nothing like a natural life.
Look up ecmo (extra corporeal membrane oxygenation). I had that but kept dying, so the mechanical heart was done.
I even know someone who was awake and moving on ecmo. She could shower with assistance in ICU in hospital.
At some stage, we need to decide how far is too far for medicine to go.
