Odd acronyms

You're joking, right?

If it’s the medical meaning, no I’m not joking for when the time comes.
I have been terminally ill and expected to die for over 3 weeks. But somehow I survived, lived on a mechanical heart for 15 months and then had a transplant. Since that time I’ve been in “end stage kidney failure” a couple of times and I keep getting cancers.
I’m not prepared to be kept alive by multiple machines again. The Drs know, and I have an “advanced care directive” in place. We don’t have MAID in my state yet. But legally if I’m in that condition the Drs can only keep me comfortable, rather than prolonging life.

Can't you just get a transplant?

I did, but I don’t want to go through the whole process again. Transplant was pretty easy compared to the earlier stuff.
