Why they cast a person who can’t sing in the lead of a musical, I’ll never know

Aight yall musical rant time; Sweeney Todd, the demon barber of Fleet Street, is one of my favorite musicals of all time. Despite this, I HATE the film version, simply because they cast Johnny Depp as the man himself Sweeney Todd. And shocker, Johnny Depp CAN NOT SING.
