Real

Though anything I put n/a on, if one side is communist or fascist I'm for the other side

I think Russia is still commie but the only reason I put n/a is bc recently i keep finding out that whenever the public all agrees on something regardless of political beliefs, it usually turns out to be a bs point
So atp idk what to think about Russia Ukraine but I definitely don't support invading other countries (which is why I voted Taiwan in the China conflict)

Probably because Stalin instigated WW2 with the Hitler-Stalin pact. He basically pulled all his support from Poland and told Hitler he could go ransack it bc he knew it would piss off England, and the last time England and Germany were in a fight, it was WW1. Basically Stalin was actively trying to start another world war, and then he pretended to be against Hitler to gain the trust of many anti-Nazi countries like the US and England. Many didn't trust him but some did.

(Tbh WW1 was started by neither but it quickly became the England-Germany show, especially since the two had massive tension before the war happened)

Tbh a Stalin is more dangerous than a Hitler imo because someone like Hitler is so obviously evil in retrospect that we all pretty much know that anyone who thinks he was good is obviously mental. (i say in retrospect bc he actually gained a following through riling people up to hate a specific people group [something Mao also did in his scarily similar takeover of China]). Stalin, on the other hand was more manipulative. He quietly (i say quietly bc some ppl don't know this) starved his own civilians, forced abortions against people's wills, killing millions of unborn babies that mothers didn't even want to abort just because he deemed them unfit to reproduce, killed over 20 million people in addition to that, instigated WW2 by bargaining with Hitler, manipulated many countries (China and North Korea included) to adopt his style of government, manipulated FDR for many years despite spying on him (FDR's right hand man was spying on him for Stalin and when FDR finally realized Stalin wasn't his friend, he died not too long after), and whether or not he was a good leader is still up to debate. Stalin also had the same goal as Hitler - world domination.

but they also helped him start it
The USSR is kinda hard to place in a WW2 "side vs side" diagram since they were kind of on their own side and were playing everyone. If you've watched Captain America Civil War, the USSR is sort of a Zemo just instigating trouble between two groups and trying to watch them tear each other apart, only Russia got involved at times

and where did you learn this? (just an honest question)

I've read many things specifically documenting Stalin's reign over the USSR, and even got perspectives from people who survived it

What is crazy is how I've read biographies from survivors of the Holocaust who became avid Marxists during their trauma, while Stalin was doing the exact same stuff to Christians. One guy who survived a USSR torture camp for Christians described his experiences in the camp (which i wont describe here bc kids are on this site), but to briefly sum it up, they were extremely underfed and forced to work in a very disgusting environment that was actively made to be as uncomfortable as possible for them. Eventually in describing it, he got to one point in time, and refused to go any further, claiming he had suffered worse than Christ (which makes no sense if your Christian). This was a pastor, and they broke him that bad (the USSR prided itself on its ability to break people).

I've read biographies from survivors of Hitler, Stalin, Lenin and Mao's reigns, and even the Japanese WW2 dictator (whose name i forgot)

Honestly just from reading biographies of people who grew up under Hitler and Mao, the similarities between the two are astonishing. Both manipulated the public by singling out a specific people group (for Hitler it was Jews, and for Mao it was "old school right wingers"), and they overthrew the government, got the youth involved by getting them to take pride in throwing out the old culture norms and replacing them with newer and better standards (Mao literally called the previous culture norms the four olds [which were four different classifications of old culture that needed to be thrown out]). Then they mass murdered their own people with full support from many of the public, and anyone who dissented, they used the army to intimidate them or flat out kill or persecute them. Thankfully for Germany, Hitler took 6 years to be defeated. China was not this fortunate, as Mao lived for over two decades after taking over, and during his reign, people viewed him as God and did not question him (because it usually resulted in death).

Stalin was a bit different than these two because he already was in an oppressive regime because of Lenin. But Stalin manipulated the political spectrum and elbowed his way to the top, before just going on a wicked rampage and punishing everyone who even dreamed of making it to the top (kind of like a David Miscaviage in scientology). In Stalin's case, he just started killing people left and right. Stalin never had to weaponize people the same as Hitler and Mao had to, since he already had full power over the USSR as soon as he took power. But he still did manipulate his people into hating. The difference was that whereas Hitler and Mao had to get public support before going crazy, Stalin did not have to. He tortured his own people and killed them constantly. He had a man executed in public for being the first to stop clapping for him (when Stalin was approaching, people would clap past tired arms to not be the first to stop, because Stalin would kill you if he singled you out as the first).

But Stalin did not want to stop at the USSR, like Hitler did not want to stop with Germany. However, the irony is that Hitler manipulated Germany into supporting him, and then went on a wild rampage in trying to take over the world, which the world clearly saw to be evil, and so he was eventually stopped. Stalin, on the other hand, did not have to manipulate the USSR to get power, and went on a wild rampage on his own people because of it, but when it came to wanting to take over the world, he took the manipulative approach Hitler had to take to overthrow Germany. Stalin is responsible for China and North Korea's governments getting overthrown (the USA and the USSR fighting is what divided Korea into North and South Korea [the North was where the USSR won, and the South was where the USA won]). Stalin even got his hands in the USA because FDR believed in his friendship while his own right hand man was reporting everything he did to Stalin. He also had secret police in the USA (called the CPUSA) who were actively rebelling against the American government and answering to Stalin (they had their own ability to "arrest" people and punish people).

Stalin did not try to overthrow the world by directly conquering it. He infiltrated governments and caused people to Hitler their own countries, so that 1) it wouldn't cost him as much of his army to conquer people as it did Hitler, and 2) people wouldn't associate him with these crimes like we rightfully do with Hitler.

The difference between Hitler and Stalin is that Hitler's idea didn't work because we all knew it was evil. Stalin's worked because it was up for debate. And it was up for debate because he infiltrated a lot of governments and got people to misreport on what he was doing, and then manipulated national leaders by turning on Hitler and "proving his goodness". Stalin played a long game, while Hitler tried to be an Alexander the Great. And look where the world is now. In a way, the world is moving where Stalin wanted, even after his death.

The fact that the two are similar but only one is considered evil by almost everyone in the world is a serious testament to how manipulative Stalin really was. Hitler was manipulative until he got in power, and then showed his true colors to the public instantly. Stalin showed his to the USSR immediately but put on a different character for the rest of the world to see
