Yeah, how else would they rise to power...by formulating reasonable political agendas through discussion and civilized debate? History repeats itself.
Its easier to:
1) make it impossible for the avg working class citizen to make a decent living by destroying the economy with fake crisis or two
2) convince the masses (who now have little chance of a bright financial future ahead) through media and public school indoctrination, that all their problems are the faults of the only people smart or lucky enough to barely survive the fake crisis; and the only solution for the broke masses is to steal whatever the lucky ones managed to save.
3) watch the heads roll
