Riptide is a simple song that does what all of the best songs do in my opinion. Tells a clear story, uses analogies, is sonically pleasing, and has a unique feel. It’s not specifically any one era of music, aside from arguably 2010’s but that’s the weird era where it was just love in 36 different flavors. The ukulele throughout the song paired with various percussion makes up one of the best instrumentals in any pop song. 9/10
