Awakenings are abilities given from godly artifacts in the form of knives. if a person cuts themselves with the knife, they either die or get the awakening. A woman known as Aella has experimented with these knives and used them on a brother and sister. here are the categories.
Natural: These are the basic awakenings, used by Mercury and Eren. these have no restrictions and can be creative as they want, however they must use existing materials already on earth. For example, Eren's awakening, Energy, is practically useless, until she found out how to forge guns and other weapons with it
Situational: Extremely powerful if the right user has them, used by the judge and Violet. These awakenings won't work unless something happens before hand. for example, Violet's awakening, which allows her to become a demon, is only usable if she uses strong emotion, making her go up to 200% of her full power
Godly: These are the most rare, used by Matt and Fox. Godly awakenings are similar to natural except without the restriction of using materials on earth. they can be only be obtained by being gifted by gods, giving them a weaker copy of their original powers. This is shown by Matt having Ares abilites, with some limitations. (if a god dies and is contained in a knife that is used to obtain an awakening, however the god will be able to be in the body unless sealed)
