First off, what is propaganda in the context here? It would be telling people that the furry fandom is friendly, open-hearted and inclusive. Then there's the propaganda of Antis. It tells people that the furry fandom is a horrible mess where horny people hang around. The issue is that both sides fail to capture the reality. The Anti-Furry Community is oftentimes not very friendly, while the other side has the same issues. Hate because of the choice of species, ethnicity or personal preference. Propaganda is only useful if it is exaggerating reality, which is what is happening. If you see this, propaganda will not be of use with you.

I'll say tho furry propaganda is more or less than :

- you realise the fandom exist, or just that they aren't the horny ahh monster you imagined.
- they wanna show you something but you aren't sure.
- turn out it's wholesome and/or you like it.
- you join them for fun without thinking about the consequences, aka you officially being a furry.
