MY OC'S DEATH : SAD WARNING:'(; The bullet wound was smoldering and stung like acid.
"What a cheater, asking for a sword fight and bringing a gun,"
the injured Kate muttered through the pain.
Her opponent knelt over, grinning wide. "You. Lost.
I. Won. Ha!" he exclaimed, pointing with each symbol.
Kate's green eyes began to water. "Brother... we could have
ruled humanity together, if that's what you wanted so badly.
Why - *sniff* why did you want me dead?"
"Oh, you thought I was your brother all along?"
He pulled off his armor, pulled down his collar,
and there it was. A glowing chip on the back of his neck.
That wretched maniac. How dare he steal the flesh of
my brother, my father, my friends, and commit atrocities in them,
she thought. Kate had believed her brother had become the enemy himself,
that he was beyond saving, that he was the main evil today. But she was wrong.
He became a slave to an evil flame that she believed to have extinguished
decades back, yet still flickered.
"Cleanup crew!" the man inside her brother's mind said as he walked away.
A pack of roughly a hundred wolflike alien beasts emerged from gates in the arena walls,
sprinting towards the scent of blood. There was no chance of her
outrunning them, let alone getting up from the pain of the bullet.
Kate, in all her pride and ego, had failed, but she wasn't going to go this way.
If she had to go, she was taking down these horrendous beasts with her.
She drew a salvaged antimatter grenade, detonated it, and closed her eyes.
