I had this same situation 3 hours from where i live, and we met each other again like YEARS later. Turns out he lives near me. We good buds now :)

The good ending

I haven't seen him in a while. We met again in a Jiu-Jitsu class and that was the only form of communication we had between each other. 3 days a week. I quit jiu-jitsu and unfortunately forgot to get his number. Needles to say, we were great friends. If I ever run into him again, I will not hesitate to ask.
