Erm… a cpu is actually a piece of computer hardware. Made up of billions of transistors about a few nanometers big. The CPU does most of the major calculations and processing for the computer by creating binary signals, which different components of the computer can understand. One important thing to note, however, is that the CPU does not do graphics processing, this is handled by the GPU, which is basically a specialized CPU. As well as the fact that a CPU is not, in fact, an NPC.
