Overrated quarterback anyways. Only benefits from being on an otherwise-solid team. Put him in Carolina or Arizona and we'll see how his stats look. Good quarterbacks help carry good teams, but great quarterbacks help carry mediocre/bad teams. That's why I think Matthew Stafford was underrated. He had very above-average stats while playing for the Lions, who were not playoff-bound. He even had some of his best years without Calvin Johnson. His 2011-2018 seasons were productive, and his 2021 season helped push the Rams to the Lombardi Trophy. He absolutely earned it, in my eyes. We need more quarterbacks like him who are genuinely great and even underrated, and fewer quarterbacks like Mahomes who rely on star power and an already good team.
