Chapter 7: Karma

It was dark. Everyone was asleep, except for one man. Matt. mostly cause someone was bugging him the entire time
Ares: hey. hey. Hey. Hey Matt. Hey Matt.
Matt: what?
Ares: Check outside. something's out there
Matt: Okay okay but I swear if it's a go***mn squirrel again...
He looks out the window to see a bandaged man walking towards their house. Matt runs outside and points at him
Matt: Hey... who are you?
The Judge: ...The god of war vessel...
Matt: oh shi-
The judge grabs a knife and runs at Matt, who dodges and tries to keep distance away.
Matt: hey man, I don't know who you are, but if you want me dead, I can't let that happen.
The judge then grabs a gun which matt tries to run from
Ares: can't you just block it with my armor?
Matt: tired...
Ares: fair.
the gun fire wakes up everyone (except Eren)
Violet: Spark? Where's Matt?
Spark: I think he's outside-
more gunshots get fired
Spark: Okay, now I know he's outside

the two rush go to Eren's room to see Mercury poking Eren with a stick
Spark: She's still asleep?
Violet: She's always asleep. You guys try to wake her up. I'm going to go help Matt
Spark: alright. good luck.
Violet grabs her katana and runs outside to see Matt just lying on the floor. in a vengeful rage, Violet rushes at the judge
Violet: WHAT DID YOU DO?
the judge: he just fell asleep out of exhaustion.
Violet: LIAR!
the judge, was in fact, telling the truth. Violet did not care, as she slashed at the judge, cutting the bandage on his face. he laughs as the wind picks up and a knife flies by, cutting Violet in the same place.
Violet: What in the-
The judge: Don't you see, young lady? You can't hurt me without hurting yourself. The universe does not carry debts. It always returns back to you what you gave it.
Violet, in fear, tries to shake Matt awake
Violet: MATT HELP

In the depths of Matt's mind, Matt was standing next to Ares
Ares: ...you know... I could easily end this guy, right?
Matt: yeah I know. but I want to see if my gang still got it.
Ares; ...you keep relying on others? in fact, you could kill that guy with a single punch through the chest.
Matt: I know, but it seems fair that I let my friends get some time to shine.
Ares:... fine but if any of them screw up, you have to let me take control
matt: Deal
Back in the real world, Violet is still shaking in fear
Violet: i don't know what to do!
Then, Eren limps out of the house...
Eren: mm... what time is it...
Violet: EREN! MATT ISN'T RESPONDING PLEASE YOU HAVE TO BEAT THIS MAN UP I CAN'T DO IT
Eren: ...loud...
She turns to the judge and just looks at him.
Eren: ...can we do this some other time? we can have a duel in the morning when everyone is awake. alright?
The Judge: ... hm... seems reasonable enough.
Eren: cool I'm just going to
Eren drags Matts body back into the house
Violet: is he okay?
Eren: oh he's having a talk
Violet: with who?
Eren: you don't want to know.
Spark walks in, holding Confetti in his hands. Violet pets Confetti and calms down more...
Confetti: arf!
Violet: hello to you too.

Spark: So... Vi what happened out there?
Violet: I don't know. I just slashed him and later I got slashed the exact same way... it's like a trade off but forced?
Eren: hm... an eye for an eye?
Spark: a soul for a soul?
Violet, not knowing what any of this means, just nods
Spark: alright. I don't think there's any way of countering that, so we just need to brute force it...
Eren: cool ima nap
Eren falls back onto her bed as Mercury puts a blanket over her. Violet turns to Matt sleeping.
Violet: Do you think Matt can beat him?
Spark: not sure... but judging by the fact he fell asleep, I would say he wants us to beat him.
Violet: Okay then. I'll prove to Matt I can do this!
Eren: can you shut up? I'm trying to sleep
Violet: oh sorry...
She walks away as Spark turns off the lights. In the depths of Matt's mind, Ares is pissed off
Ares: MORNING? HE KNOWS MOST OF YOUR POWERS NOW! HE HAS TIME TO MAKE A PLAN! AND THEY'RE WAITING TILL MORNING?
Matt: calm down, Eren is smarter than you think
Ares; NO I WILL NOT CALM DOWN!
Matt: just let me sleep.
Ares continues to yell until Matt drowns out the noise and goes to sleep, waiting till morning
