Some of my other ideas are:
Wasp’s confidence to rule (or do anything else) is already completely gone by the beginning where she might be reluctant to even help out until she hears that Jewel and Scarab have disappeared. Even then she’ll still need convincing due to her diminished mental state. She’ll also need to be lead or fed ideas as well.
What if a leafwing or a hybrid ended up helping Wasp figure out what happened to Jewel? She’ll need someone to keep her focused. Wasp might have a little more respect for leafwings or hybrids if this happened, but such an event is unlikely given how most (if not all) of the tribe wants her dead. It would have to be someone who was reluctantly convinced to help. And just so this is already clear: it probably won’t be Sundew for a few reasons. She wants Wasp dead and would kill her the second she escapes from leafwing prison, the entire Hivewing kingdom probably has a description of her (though they’d kill any leafwing already) and be watching for her, and it’s unlikely she could even be convinced to do something this crazy. That being said, it’s up to the author’s choice if they want to use Sundew for this.
However, if not, said character also needs to be able to follow Wasp and stay hidden, so maybe most of Wasp’s (reluctant) allies would be similar sizes to the Arc 3 main characters. It’ll be easier for them to find places to hide and watch Wasp so they can prevent Wasp from straying from finding Jewel or Scarab.
Wasp could end up exiled to the mountains until someone eventually finds her. She’d still be depressed. She won’t be allowed to just roam free, but she’ll be a changed dragon, she won’t be longing for power or the complete elimination of leafwings anymore.
If both Scarab and Jewel have been killed, then Wasp and the Hivewing kingdom are in a lot of trouble. If the big bad evil political figure is killed/imprisoned and Wasp goes back to prison herself, the kingdom is once again left in a power vacuum with no obvious dragon to take power. Wasp may be forced to rule until a suitable replacement is found.
How Wasp would be punished in the beginning, I don’t know. She probably wouldn’t be executed because that would raise the tension and the new political figure would pretty much have all the support from dragons they need to convince the whole tribe to go to war against the combined leafwing and silkwing nation.
