To follow people, just click/tap on their username and then click/tap on the blue “follow”, and hit refresh
To see who is following you (this is the only way I know how to see this) go to the top of the page, and click/tap the little envelope in the right hand corner
Click/tap “new” and then from there use the search bar. I see my followers by typing letter by letter; for instance if I typed “a” all the users who follow me whose username started with “a” will be listed.
